How to mount the iPod:

  1. Open iTunes
  2. Make sure that the iPod is attatched and functioning, and that there are no current transfers between iTunes and your iPod.
  3. Select your iPod in the source list, and click the iPod Options-button in the lower right-hand part of the iTunes window (the iPod Options-button is the fourth from the right).
  4. Make sure that "Open iTunes when attatched" is not checked, and that the "Enable FireWire disk use" is checked.
  5. Quit iTunes. Your iPod is now listed on the desktop, along with the name (you will need it later).
  6. Launch the iPod Retriever!
